Instructions For Use

This information is designed to assist in using the SkinStitch Sterile Disposable Skin Stapler. It is not a reference to surgical stapling techniques. The SkinStitch Disposable Skin Stapler is designed, tested and manufactured for single use only.
SkinStitch Sterile Disposable Skin Stapler has the application in abdominal gynecological, orthopedic, and thoracic surgery for skin closure. Also, it could be used for a variety of skin closures.
Each one staple will be placed when the handle of the SkinStitch Sterile Disposable Skin Stapler squeezed. The staples penetrate the skin initially and then formed rectangularly.
Instructions For Use
  1. For skin closure, by using toothed forceps or tissue approximating device, hold the skin edge together evenly.
  2. Place the center mark at the middle of the two skin edges.
  3. Squeeze the handle completely. Incompleteness of squeezing handle may cause incomplete forming of the staple or improper stapling. Repeat above steps, while maintaining same distance between each placed staple until the incision is closed.
Any malformed staples should be replaced with a new staple.
Warnings and Precautions
  1. Read instructions prior to use.
  2. This device is provided sterile for single-use only. Do not use if package is opened or damaged. Do not re-sterilize. Discard after use.
  3. Always ensure trigger is fully closed and released to properly feed the next staple into position.

This product is intended to be used single-use only. If used multiple times, it may lead to cross-contamination/infection. Also, it may not meet the intended use. Hence instruction for single use only is mentioned on label as well as IFU.
Sterilization is done by both Gamma as well as Ethylene oxide sterilization method, as per requirement.
